If the key is still pressed, it glows blue. The pressed keys will be highlighted in gray. After you pressed the key, its name will be written to the line above the keyboard picture.

When Keyboard Test might come in handy

There are several reasons to use this tool. Let’s review the most common of them.

“I spilled coffee/water/other on my keyboard and it doesn’t work properly anymore.”

This is one of the most common problems with keyboards. You can try to disassemble and dry the keyboard insides to fix the issue, and then check every key with this tool.

“One of my keys just stopped working”.

It may happen when dirt or liquid gets inside and blocks one of the contact points on membrane. Sometimes contacts wear out if your keyboard is old. Anyway, you can use this test to check if this is not the software issue and do some repair after.

“Keyboard types wrong letters or other keys”

If your keyboard is losing its mind check it with Keyboard Test to visualize the problem. The common reason of that behavior is liquid in keyboard membrane.

“I was cleaning my keyboard and can’t remember where all keys were”

This tool is all what you need to assemble your keyboard back! Just press the key rubber spring with something and look what key is highlighted on the screen.
